What is Machine Vision?

The principle of machine vision system is utilizing computer or image processor and related equipment to simulate the function of human vision ,then extract information from the image of object for processing, obtain relevant visual information, understand it, and finally use it for practical detection and control fields etc. Machine vision is a technology to convert images into digital signals for analysis and processing, which involves artificial intelligence, computer science, image processing, pattern recognition and many other fields.

Machine vision enables machines to have the same visual functions as human beings, and it can realize functions of various detection, measurement, recognition and judgment. With the continuous improvement of various technologies, the application field of machine vision is also expanding. Originally, it is mainly used for detection of electronic assembly, but now it has been developed into an increasingly wide range of industrial application fields such as identification, detection, measurement and manipulator positioning. Fast speed, large amount of information and multiple functions have become the main characteristics of machine vision technology.
